There's sheilas in them thar hills
28 Aug 2003

Country blokes might be beaut - but the girls say they're great too. Rebecca, 27, a nurse from South Gippsland, says heaps of attention is paid to lonely farm boys but single women find it just as hard to find a partner in the country as the men do.

Rebecca wrote to "Women's Weekly" last year following a campaign to find wives for farmers, demanding equal opportunity. The resulting "Find a Country Girl a Groom" campaign began on August 27, with 25 women aged from 22 to 55 advertising their availability, including Rebecca.

Herald Sun, 27/8/03.
