Shearer's delight
28 Oct 2003

Shannon Warnest, from Willalooka in the South-East of South Australia, has won Australia National Shearing Title at Esperance in Western Australia - for the second time. He was the 2000 world shearing champion.

Mr Warnest will go on to represent Australia at the Golden Shears competition in Masterton, New Zealand in March 2004.

Australia's national Sports Shear Australia competition, won by Mr Warnest, was judged on a combination of speed and quality. Although he was not the fastest in shearing his pen of 15 Merino ewes, Mr Warnest won the trophy based on the quality of his work.

The Advertiser, 22/10/03, page 32.
