Horses in RM's funeral cortege
12 Nov 2003

The Queensland state funeral of Reginald Murray Williams, who died on November 4, will be held today in Toowoomba. Horses will play a key role in the ceremony, as bush icon RM Williams is laid to rest. The service will be held at 2pm at the University of Southern Queensland.

The Acting Prime Minister, John Anderson, will be amongst a group of VIPs paying their respects to RM, a man who embodied the Outback spirit and who gave stockmen's boots a national identity.

The procession will include two grey Percheron horses. It will leave TS Burstow in Ruthven Street at midday and proceed along Nelson Street and Baker Street to the university site.
