Bigger, better Show kicks up a gear 26 Aug 2004
The 2004 Royal Melbourne Show is shaping up to be bigger than ever. More than 10,000 animals will be on display when the Show starts on September 16. Entries in many sections are well up on previous years, and there'll be huge participation in dairy, carcass and beef classes. There will also be hundreds of horses, alpacas and dogs. Visitors will be entertained by the pavilions, parades and animal nurseries. And a new highlight this year is the monster truck display.
More than 500,000 people are expected to visit the Show this year. Tickets are $20 adults, $15 concession, $10 for children (aged five to 14) or $60 for a family of two adults and three children. There's also an early-bird offer of a fourth child's ticket free with every family pass; this can be obtained by visiting www.royalshow.com.au before August 31.
