New Grain Growers' Association chairman takes over
31 Aug 2004

Ron Hards, a Victorian farmer, will take over as chairman of the Grain Growers' Association from August 31. He replaces Ron Greentree, Australia's largest private wheat grower, who announced earlier this year he would stand down as GGA chairman.

In a statement, Mr Hards paid tribute to Mr Greentree, who he said led GGA through a period of rapid growth from a primarily NSW-based organisation to one which represents grain growers right across eastern Australia. During Mr Greentree's term as chairman the association has expanded to 17,000 members and has grown into a company with net assets of more than $170 million.
