Quarantine agency slips again on risk
31 Aug 2004

Biosecurity Australia's proposal to allow imports of Filipino bananas has come under scrutiny again after it said it will issue a third version of the draft risk assessment. It will be released after submissions from the Australian Bananas Council and the Philippines Government.

A spokesman for BA said the statistics in the draft IRA need to be handled in a different way. He also confirmed that the chairwoman of the banana IRA panel, Cheryl McRae, is stepping aside.

Australian Financial Review, 31/8/04.
