AWB review delayed

The independent panel investigating AWB International’s performance as manager of the wheat single desk has been given a second extension, and will now report to the federal government at the end of September. It is not clear when the report will be made public, and perhaps not until after the federal election. The review will primarily focus on AWBI’s management of the desk and how well it has met its obligation to maximise net returns to growers. It will also examine the effectiveness of the WEA as export regulator.
