Price rises offset export decline for dairy processors

Prices for global milk commodities are reaching highs. According to Dairy Australia, spot cheddar prices have reached a new high of about $US2800 a tonne or about $US1000 up on March 2003. In the same period butter prices jumped from $US1250 a tonne to about $US2000 while skim milk powder is up from $US1750 to $US2200 a tonne.
