Fertiliser supply tightens 6 Oct 2004
Demand for fertiliser may outstrip limited supplies for the 2005 growing season, Bob Hoeft, a soil fertility specialist with the University of Illinois said. The shortage won’t impact nitrogen, but phosphorus and potassium supplies could shrink. Hoeft suggests growers apply lime, which will not be in short supply, to any field with less than 6.0 soil pH.
