Cracked wheat owner still a mystery
11 Oct 2004

Ownership of a planned but illegal shipment of 20,000 tonnes cracked wheat from Perth early this month remains in dispute. The ship New Concord left Fremantle without its load, but left behind a row over attempts to undermine the “single desk” system for wheat exports. Co-operative Bulk Handling denies that the CBH Group or any of it's subsidiaries was the exporter behind the shipment, other than as a third party service provider. CBH spokesman Rhys Ainsworth said the bulk handler exported 12 million tonnes of wheat in the past 12 months for a range of customers and it was not the exporter of the cracked wheat shipment.
