Top orchardist backs Ardmona takeover
15 Oct 2004

Stuart Pickworth, the owner of Pickworth Orchards Pty Ltd and one of SPC Ardmona's largest shareholders and fruit suppliers said he supported a takeover of the company by dairy processor National Foods. Pickworth owns 1.5 per cent of SPC Ardmona. A formal takeover offer from National Foods may not be lodged for another week. Market speculation suggests that National Foods will make a cash and share offer worth more than $1.80 a share.
