Drought conditions ease in NSW
18 Oct 2004

Drought conditions eased in New South Wales over the last month, with four per cent of land now classified as "satisfactory", up from nil last month. The proportion of land classified as marginal more than doubled to seventeen per cent from seven per cent, while the proportion of land declared as drought affected fell to seventy-nine per cent from ninety-two per cent. However, the heat wave across New South Wales over the last week may lead to a reassessment of these declarations.
