Dairy co-op fails to realise its price promise
18 Oct 2004

The newly formed Dairy Farmers Milk Co-operative is struggling to get its related processing company in New South Wales to pay farmers more for milk. The supplier cooperative, which was split from the Dairy Farmers group's processing division, Australian Co-operative Foods in July. Expectations of a price rise have been dashed, with most NSW prices still at a base 27.5 cents a litre. This means Dairy Farmers is paying less than its major fresh milk competitor, National Foods.
