NSW trains farmers on land clearing rules
12 Nov 2004

NSW proposed a system of approvals for land clearing, including new restrictions, that farmers hope will prove more effective than the controversial blanket bans imposed in Queensland. NSW will allow more decision-making at the regional level, and will also allows some clearing for conservation or environmental reasons. The NSW government will provide $436 million over four years to compensate and provide training and support to farmers affected by the new rules on land clearing.
