Feedlots numbers now a record
16 Nov 2004

Cattle numbers in Australian feedlots increased by 25 per cent to 759,000 in the September quarter, and exceed the record set in 2001 by more than 17,000 head.

Strong demand from north Asian and domestic markets, coupled with an expansion in feeding capacity, helped drive the increase in numbers.
