Timbers beat milk for south-west farm profits 24 Nov 2004
Prime dairy land in Victoria's south-west is being turned into forestry plantations, to the alarm of some dairy industry leaders. Dairy processors are concerned about the change in land use, in light of forecasts of above average growth in demand for dairy products, including demand for dairy exports. Victoria's south-west is among the richest dairying country in Australia.
