Fees crippling aquaculture
7 Dec 2004

The Victorian Warm Water Aquaculture Association said small fish and yabbie farms were on the brink of closure, with fees eating away up to two-thirds of some operator’s earnings. Fees for aquaculture licences had increased by between 150 per cent and 400 per cent, while farms were also being slugged Environment Protection Authority bills, audit costs and food safety fees, in line with government policy of full cost recovery. The Border Mail, 07/12/04
