Further outbreak of citrus canker in Emerald 11 Feb 2005
Quarantine authorities are investigating a suspected new case of citrus canker disease in the fruit-growing district of Emerald in central Queensland. If confirmed, this would be the third outbreak of the disease and thwart grower hopes that their fruit would be readmitted to the national markets. It would also renew pressure for the remaining 230,000 citrus trees in the district to be destroyed.
