Grain growers face higher levy for investment arm 18 Feb 2005
The Grains Council of Australia said it proposed to increase grain grower levies from one per cent to 1.2 per cent, to fund a new company called Single Vision Grains Australia and its subsidiaries. The 0.2 percentage points increase would provide $12 million on top of the existing levy, which provides $60m. Single Vision Grains Australia will pursue ill-defined “strategic networks” and a “strategic investment subsidiary company”.
