AWB lifts price estimates for prime wheat
31 Mar 2005

AWB said the outlook for 2005/06 wheat prices improved, with a lift in pool price estimates for the second time this month. AWB increased the estimated return for benchmark grade, Australian Premium White to between $180 and $190 a tonne, free on board, and exclusive of GST, up from the opening estimate of between $170 and $180 a tonne in February. AWB put this week's rise down to a weaker Australian dollar. Estimates for durum wheat delivered to the 2005/06 pool were firm this week at between $210 and $220 a tonne.
