Milk production slumps outside Victoria
6 Apr 2005

Milk production in Australia fell in February to the lowest in seven months as dry conditions reduced supplies of cattle feed. Industry body Dairy Australia said dairy processors received 760 million litres of milk in February, down three per cent from 780 million litres a year earlier. Milk production fell in all Australian states except Victoria in February. In Victoria, which produces about two-thirds of the country’s milk, output rose 0.7 per cent.
