Moratorium extended on brake lights deadline
11 Apr 2005

The NSW Farmers' Association negotiated an extension of the moratorium to fit brake lights on grain harvesters, but are yet to persuade the state government to introduce an outright exemption. The Roads and Traffic Authority now wants farmers to fit the brake lights to headers by April 2006. This is the second extension in two years. NSW Farmers argues that sufficient safety measures are already in place and that there has not been one road incident to warrant their installation.
