Dairy Farmers shuts three regional factories
10 May 2005

The Dairy Farmers milk processing cooperative will close three factories and cut 460 jobs. The job losses, to take effect from next March, are the result of plans to close its cheese plant in Toowoomba; milk factory at Bomaderry, and the UHT plant at Mt Gambier. The restructure is expected to save Dairy Farmers an estimated $42 million a year. Dairy Farmers plans to list on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2006.
