Dairy Farmers split supported
13 May 2005

The NSW Farmers' Association said the restructuring of the Dairy Farmers milk processing cooperative would go a long way towards promoting a more efficient milk processing sector. NSW Farmers said dairy farm numbers declined by 35 per cent in New South Wales in the six years since 1999, and that there had been no other rationalisation at the processing level. Dairy Farmers will separate the milk supply Cooperative and the parent company, with a view to floating on the stock exchange.

Dairy Farmers will reduce its manufacturing sites to 11 from 14.
