A warm and dry winter beckons
18 May 2005

Only a small area of central Queensland can expect a wetter-than-average winter, according to the latest three month forecast prepared by the National Climate Centre. The centre said that the northern half of Victoria, south-western New South Wales, South Australia and the Northern Territory could all expect a drier than normal winter. The outlook for the remainder of NSW and Queensland is neutral. Tasmania is also likely to have a drier than normal season. The centre expects most of the continent to experience minimum temperatures above average this winter.
