Anderson frets over the decline in farm numbers 23 May 2005
Australia was in danger of finding it had too few farmers in a decade because conditions on the land during the current drought were so difficult, the deputy prime minister and National Party leader, John Anderson said. Anderson said, "If we're not careful, in 10 or 15 years' time we will have a serious shortage of farmers. We only have around 100,000 farm businesses in Australia now.”
