Cotton prospects more promising
26 May 2005

Australian cotton production is expected to increase by 70 per cent this season. Two years ago Australian cotton production hit its lowest level in the past decade. In 2003 some 1.6 million bales of cotton were delivered, well below the 2.6 million bales expected this year. The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics is forecasting a four per cent increase in production next season.
