Victorian grain farmers more optimistic than ABARE
8 Jun 2005

The Victorian Farmers Federation said it was premature for ABARE to talk about a 17 per cent drop in production in the state, with farmers hopeful rains would come this weekend. The VFF said the rain forecast for large parts of South Australia, Victoria and NSW "could in fact get us back on track to have a crop". ABARE's crop outlook assumes dry conditions would persist in the south and south-east for the rest of the year.
