Processors squeezed by high price of milk
9 Jun 2005

Dairy farmers may be receiving higher milk prices, but those costs will cut the profit of processor Warrnambool Cheese & Butter Factory by about 25 per cent. WCB said drought reduced the supply of milk in the second half of the financial year. WCB said the Victorian milk price was among the highest levels of recent years. WCB is the fifth-largest milk processor in Australia.
