Roberts spurns offer from AWB

Tasmanian rural supplies company Roberts said it would not support an unsolicited takeover offer, worth $122 million, from AWB. The AWB offer for Roberts may explain the decision by Roberts last week to pull out of a proposed merger with Ruralco Holdings. AWB, which owns rural merchandise chain Landmark, said it was disappointed with Roberts' response and the company should reconsider.
