More Queensland shires deemed in drought

Queensland’s government added two more shires and one part shire in southern Queensland to the list of shires that are drought-declared. There are now 58 shires and seven part shires on the list, covering more than 60 per cent of the state. The three shires added in the last week are all in major cropping areas, and face the prospect of another failed winter crop.
