Winter crop forecasts too grim
17 Jun 2005

Australian Wheat Forecasters say the winter crop predictions of the government forecaster ABARE, are too glum. AWF expect the winter grain harvest this year will be 23 million tonnes, and in excess of the five-year average of 21.4 million tonnes. Profarmer, another consultancy, expects a winter grains crop of between 18 million and 21 million tonnes.
