Cattle and lamb prices leap in line with the rain 20 Jun 2005
Meat and Livestock Australia said last week’s rain had lifted cattle prices across the eastern states, with farmers no longer culling their herds and more buyers entering the market. Cattle prices have increased by as much as eight per cent. MLA said cattle prices were probably now past their seasonal low for the year. Sheep and lamb prices recorded sharp increases, with lamb up about 13 per cent across all categories, and mutton by 15 per cent.
