Winter wheat crop above average 18 Oct 2005
Australian Wheat Forecasters expects the national winter wheat crop to come in at just under 24 million tonnes, above the average crop of 20.6 million tonnes for the past five years. AWF said it was “a very kind spring”, and reflects the change in sentiment since May, when farmers in eastern Australia despaired at the prolonged dry. The season turned in June.
