2005 the warmest year on record 6 Dec 2005
The 2005 calendar year is certain to go down as the warmest since nationwide climate records for Australia began in 2005. The National Climate Centre said the average temperature for the eleven months to November had already beaten the previous record year in 1998. The NCC said that winter was warm across Australia, whereas in most years one coast or another would be cooler. Eighteen of the last 20 years recorded above average temperatures.
