CBH seeks wheat export licence
12 Dec 2005

Grain handling and storage giant CBH has shelved plans for corporatisation and a public listing. The board of CBH instead wants support from its farmer shareholders for an investment in Asian flour mills. CBH made an application to export wheat outside the 66-year-old export monopoly controlled by AWB, a system still strongly supported by most growers. CBH has 6000 farmers as members. CBH would export the grain to six flour mills in south-eats Asia it bought last year.
