Grain farmers urged to donate to Africa
12 Jan 2006

Former Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer is urging grain farmers to donate a portion of their winter crop to World Vision Australia’s Grain Appeal which directs grain to Africa’s 184 million people currently suffering malnutrition. Any type of grain is accepted and so far 75 tonnes have been collected. Last year farmers donated 100 tonnes, producing more than $20,000 worth of emergency food relief.
