Darling delivers for farmers
3 Jan 2008

In the far west of NSW irrigators in Bourke have been able to use their pumps for the first time since July 2005. Water from pre-Christmas storms is flowing through many tributaries to the Darling River meaning that irrigators in the upper parts of the river can now take 10 per cent of their water entitlement. While the water has come to late to grow a cotton crop, citrus growers are hoping that it will be sufficient to save whatever trees they've managed to keep alive through the years of drought.
