Wheat crop low but prices sky high
4 Jan 2008

Farmers who have managed to harvest a wheat crop are set to benefit from record high prices. Grain handler CBH expects that the total crop in WA will be around 8.5 million tonnes and that with prices up to $420 per tonne the return should be around $3 billion, close to the $3.5 billion achieved for the 14.7 million tonne 2003-04 crop.
