Orlando sticks to its guns to lift sales
17 Jan 2008

The Jacobs Creek brand, part of Orlando Wines, is close to hitting annual sales volumes of 8 million cases of wine. Orlando Wines recorded a 31 per cent increase in earnings to $66.9 million before interest and tax for the year to June 2007. Managing director Stephen Couche said that they were resisting the temptation to engage in deep discounting to boost sales, instead relying on investing in its brands. While some industry authorities have warned that the grape harvest could fall below 1.1 million tonnes this year Mr Couche said that the crop would be smaller than usual but not as low as some predictions.
