Floodwaters lapping at Rockhampton homes
31 Jan 2008

While authorities have said that the risk of major flooding is minimal, 6 homes in Rockhampton's low-lying areas have been evacuated and up to 150 more could be affected. With the Fitzroy River expected to reach a peak of 7.8 metres today residents are being urged to exercise caution. Homes in some areas have been cut-off with roads flooding, but most homes are built high so are not being inundated by the water.
