Early harvest for WA grapes
8 Feb 2008

Harvest has already started at vineyards in WA's South West but as expected the yield will be less than last year. Ryan Carter from Capel Vale Winery said that he could tell from the time that the vines were flowering in October that it was going to be a light year but that it was possible that next year would bring a bumper season. At Killerby Vineyards manager Michael Brocksopp said that hot days at Christmas and through January had caused some burn on the chardonnay and cabernet grapes.
