No end to drought for Adelaide 14 Feb 2008
While most areas of Australia have had good rain falls over recent weeks, in same cases between 100 and 400 millimetres, South Australia remains almost completely dry. According to the weather bureau there is a dominant high-pressure system sitting in the Great Australian Bight which has seen only four small areas record any rain, and even then only between 1 and 5 millimetres. Adelaide has received 434mm of rain since February last year compared with an average of 549.6mm.
