Extreme weather continues in Queensland 22 Feb 2008
South-east Queensland is expecting its first heatwave for summer today and tomorrow with temperatures expected to reach as much as 36 degrees. However further north flooding continues and Rockhampton residents have been told to brace for flooding worse than the peaks experienced last month when around 150 homes became isolated. The Fitzroy River is at 6.8 metres today but is expected to peak at around 7.7 metres on Sunday, 15 centimetres higher than the highest point recorded last month.
