The cheese that pleases
18 Mar 2008

Two Australian cheeses have been chosen as the best in their fields at the 2008 World Championship Cheeses Contest in the US. A parmesan from Victoria took gold, beating nine other cheeses, but none were from Italy, the home of parmesan. An Australian who helped judge, Neil Willman, said that the Australian parmesan was not as good as Italian chesses but still did well in taste tests. The other gold medal winner was the Tasmanian Heritage Traditional Camembert while the Tasmanian Heritage Signature Camembert nabbed silver.
