Bulls still in favour
19 Mar 2008

Sales of stud bulls in the south of Australia are holding up despite the drought. Of the sixty sales conducted so far this year, stud and commercial breeders have paid an average of $4,375 for a bull. Clearance rates are down slightly though, averaging 77 per cent of the 2,789 bulls offered. Feedlots are carrying about half their usual numbers due to the combined effects of low beef prices and soaring grain prices.
