Federal Nationals may take different route 2 Jun 2008
The Nationals my be moving closer to merging with the Liberals in Queensland but at the federal level the end of the Coalition is being considered. Nationals leader Warren Truss said that all options are on the table for the future of the party. This would include "the potential to go it alone, or have a stronger role or a different role in the Coalition". A review of the possibilities is being conducted by the former deputy prime minister and party leader John Anderson and recommendations are expected soon.
