One of our driest Autumns on record
3 Jun 2008

Autumn has been dry across most of the country, jeopardising farmers’ hopes of a bumper crop. The National Climate Centre says that large parts of the country have experienced rain levels that are amongst the ten worst years on record and the Murray-Darling Basin had its fourth driest autumn. The only areas to receive decent falls were the southwest of Western Australia, parts of WA's north, the northern tropics and the mid-north coast of NSW.
