ABARE predicts commodity boom
24 Jun 2008

An export boom in farm produce, metals and minerals will drive the Australian economy in 2008/2009 says ABARE. Wheat and wine are expected to help farm export growth climb 12 per cent in the next financial year to $30.2 billion, depending on weather conditions. Chinese steelmakers have agreed to massive price increases on Rio Tinto iron ore from Australia.
