Quarantine politics says minister

Australia''s quarantine system has become too politicised and is damaging Australian trade deals says the minister for agriculture Tony Burke. Mr Burke said quarantine had to be completely removed from politics with decisions made strictly according to science. The politicisation of Australian quarantine processes had done enormous damage to Australia in overseas markets said Burke. Former public servant Roger Beale is heading up a four person review of the quarantine system which is due to report back to the government in September.
